IJM secures construction contract from UOB Malaysia to build new corporate office tower
PETALING JAYA, JULY 17, 2017 – IJM Construction Sdn Bhd (“IJM Construction”), a fully-owned subsidiary of IJM Corporation Berhad, was awarded a RM451 million contract from UOB Properties (KL) Bhd to build a new corporate office tower in Jalan Raja Laut in Kuala Lumpur.
The 29-storey and 193.5-meter-tall UOB Tower 2 will be located adjacent to the UOB Malaysia headquarters. Both buildings will be connected by an elevated plaza. The new building will include a range of facilities including two levels of podium for retail banking, one level of lower ground floor, five levels of basement car park and 27 levels of office space including a green lounge reception and a sky lounge.
Construction of the building will commence in August 2017 and is expected to be completed 40 months from the commencement date. The building is expected to take its place in Kuala Lumpur’s skyline by early 2021.
